Our Keynote Speaker Keith Granet will then present on licensing contracts and important strategic aspects of brand extension. He will help you to understand what milestones need to be met before launching a furniture line or licensing deal. Keith will also introduce a groundbreaking new tool that creates efficiency in your design process. This will be followed by BOLD Summit Founder Julia Molloy’s presentation on company structure and workflow.

Following lunch, we will hear from Crans Baldwin and Randy Fiser, chief executive officer of ASID. Dedicated to advancing community and economic development, he brings to his role a unique point of view about the capacity of design to make a positive impact on human health, well-being, and productivity. Randy is releasing new information on evidence based design that you can consider incorporating into your business offering.

BOLD Summit Day 1: External Alignment for Growth

Wondering just what it is you’ll be learning at the BOLD Summit this year? Look no further! Here is a rundown of some of the topics we’ll be covering during the most intense two days of business development you’ve ever seen. Your time is valuable so it has to be high impact!

After an introduction by Julia Molloy, the owner of the BOLD Summit, we’ll start the day with our first BOLD Master, Kelly Hoppen MBE. In a Q&A session with Julia, Kelly will tell us all about the keys to her success and how she grew her business into an international powerhouse.

Next on the list is the founder of the Business of Design Summit, David Shepherd with his hands-on Action Map workshop. David has developed a process that helps the small business owner to clarify goals, focus strategy, and then identify the few critical learning and growth objectives that will effectively achieve those goals. It is progress on the learning and growth objectives that need to be measured, not accounting data. (Yes, he’ll be declaring “the end of accounting!”)

Kim Kuhteubl’s presentation “Tiny Tribe, Big Influence” is going to walk you through the process of identifying your most authentic message and develop a strategy for visibility and branding that will attract more of your ideal clients, make your brand more attractive to the media and align with the lifestyle you are striving for.

After lunch, sit down with our second BOLD Master, Joan Behnke, called “The Billionaire Whisperer” by Forbes magazine. Joan will share the decisions and techniques that have helped her build her business. Later in the day you’ll be able to join her for an intimate roundtable discussion — but sign up now, because Joan’s group is filling up fast!

Following this Q&A session, we will be presenting two panels that will provide all the information you need to get your work published. The first, “Think Like an Editor”, will be moderated by PR professional Barbara Pressman and feature editors from several prestigious interior design magazines. Afterwards, join renowned photographers Laura Hull and Victoria Pearson for “Photos and Points of View” where they will discuss exactly how photographing your work affects your likelihood of being published.

After a snack and sponsor showcase, we’ll head into our first roundtable sessions and portfolio reviews with the aforementioned editors. We’ll end the day with the presentation of our BOLD Masters awards. If you haven’t already signed up for our exclusive BOLD Masters Dinner at the Piazza de Liberace, now is the time to do it! There are only six slots left for this amazing, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!

COSENTINO Rocks! (yes, pun intended!)

I just want to give a shout out to the team over at Cosentino. I just ran into Tori Ross last week and was so impressed.

Cosentino-at-the-bold-summit

I was at the Christopher Kennedy Compound at Modernism Week in Palm Springs, which was stunning, by the way.  (Christopher really puts together one outstanding show house!) Cosentino showcased another amazing kitchen. Have you seen their newest line of counter tops?  AMAZING.

Not only do they have an incredible line of products that the design industry has come to rely on, they also contribute so much to our community. They play an integral role to so many industry events and host dozens of talented designers on a wonderful trip to Spain. They show them their quarry, educated them on the intricate process of creating their groundbreaking materials, showcase their home office and treat them to an incredibly good time in Espana!

Patty Dominguez was kind enough to offer me to join this year, and for those of you that were at the BOLD Summit last August, you heard me make her promise me a spot on that coveted trip while she was on the stage, so I would have witnesses! Lol!

Well, she reached out to me a few weeks ago to see if I wanted to join this February, but unfortunately, I used my, “Honey, I’m going out of the country, you take care of our child for a couple weeks.” card when I went to Italy a few months back.  Besides, things are revving up here at the BOLD office and I am pretty busy putting together the speakers, venues and programming, but I hope to go with her next year.

Last year at the BOLD Summit, Tiare Noelani Pinto, the Principal of Archipellago Hawaii Interior Design won an all expense paid trip to Spain. See what I mean? That is pretty amazing and they are doing it again at this year’s BOLD Summit at the end of June.

I can’t wait to see what lines they showcase at the event. I am looking forward to it. Thanks for supporting the BOLD Summit again this year, Patty. You and the entire Cosentino team are amazing and so great to work with. I can see why so many designers love you.

Thanks, Cosentino for contributing so much to our industry and for providing real quality that designers can trust to use in their high-end projects. You really do ROCK!

With love,

Julia Alexander Molloy
