BOLD Summit Attendee, Corey Damen Jenkins

Nationally acclaimed interior designer Corey Damen Jenkins demonstrates a knack for seeing beyond the obvious, taking what his clients tell him to another level that exceeds their wildest dreams. One peek through his impressive portfolio shows that Corey is a true visionary. While his creative instincts are undeniable, he brings a great deal more to the table with his professionalism, sunny disposition and genuine enthusiasm for every endeavor.

His style has been described as a fresh, continental mix of elegance and modernity, while his vision is fueled by his clients. Looking at their dreams and aspirations as if they’re bricks stacked on a palette, Corey sees himself as the “mortar” needed to build those bricks into something tangible. As he explains, when you step back from a real brick building, you don’t really see the mortar; the bricks are what stand out. The same can be said when you step back and look at his work. He wants you to see his clients’ personalities.

It’s been a whirlwind since Corey formed Corey Damen Jenkins & Associates in 2009. He has been featured in numerous print and on-line publications including House Beautiful, Architectural Digest, Dwell, USA Today, Kravet Inspired News, Charlotte Urban Home, The Detroit News, StyleLine and more. Televised audiences voted him the winner of HGTV’s hit reality series Showhouse Showdown. He has appeared as a guest speaker on FOX 8 News-WGHP and at market shows and design centers across the country. Corey was also named “Designer Of The Year” by Fashion Group International at the 2012 Night Of Stars Awards. In 2015, he was honored as one of the Top 20 African American Interior Designers in the United States.

This award, sponsored by Baccarat, is bestowed upon design and industry masters who have pioneered new ground, realizing a lifetime of noteworthy projects within a frame of strong business practices.

“The BOLD Summit, the premier luxury design business conference in the United States, is a transformative experience where attendees get to actually learn from and mingle with giants in the field of interior design,” said Julia Molloy, owner of BOLD.  Each master will share their wisdom and insights on entrepreneurship and the keys to building a thriving design firm.

In addition to exclusive learning experiences with the BOLD Masters, the BOLD Summit includes a packed agenda of talks by design business consultants and heavyweight media professionals, including design business-strategy experts Keith Granet, Kim Kuhteubl, Crans Baldwin, ASID CEO Randy W. Fiser, and editors of national design publications Interiors, Traditional Home, Robb Report Home & Style, MyDomaine.com, and more.

The event agenda takes the attendees through the key elements of a thriving business. “It is the most intense two days of business development and collaboration in the industry,” says owner, Julia Molloy. “Participants will experience a dynamic and powerful combination of tactical and strategic insights that will shave at least a year off the growth curve. There is nothing out there like this for luxury designers.” Attendees will benefit from an energizing and empowering agenda that includes streamlining workflow, team development, financial and growth strategy, media publishing and building a photographic portfolio. BOLD abounds with networking opportunities where designers can collaborate with each other and partake in intimate roundtable discussions with the BOLD Masters and expert speakers. The event will kick off with a lively networking cocktail party sponsored by the publisher of Traditional Home magazine on Wednesday evening.
