Ray Langhammer is a celebrated interior and product designer, showroom design expert, and fashion icon. With a degree in architecture from Kansas State University, Langhammer’s career was fast-tracked with an incredible start at Ralph Lauren working on the visual merchandising and design. It was there Ray developed a passion for creating memorable spaces and honed his merchandising expertise. Soon the West Coast came calling and almost immediately after he moved to Newport Beach, Langhammer met then nascent designer Barclay Butera. The two design dynamos immediately clicked and began developing a 25++ year affiliation with Ray immediately taking the lead on all visual merchandising along with assisting on all design projects and company initiatives.
The combination proved to be magic. With Butera’s star rising and Langhammer at his side, the two launched their first showroom and design studio in Newport Beach in 1994. Ray quickly outgrew the role of lead visual merchandiser soon was appointed the Creative Director of Barclay Butera’s design firm. With his creative eye, passion for art and design, architectural background, and spectacular showroom designs, Langhammer’s contributions to the interiors industry remain countless.
Ray continues to provide interior design services to luxury residential, commercial and hospitality projects for the firm. Their work has been featured in countless high-end national and regional print publications and digital media. As liaison to Barclay Butera Inc., Ray is a monthly contributor to the Bay Window Magazine in Newport Beach, California and has been a featured speaker at Dwell on Design. In addition to his remarkable interior design work, Ray also oversees product development for the company’s twelve licensing partnerships. Langhammer’s fashion post “Look of the Day” has become and Insta-gram sensation, and currently he lives in Newport Beach, California with his beloved dogs Izzy and Charlie.
